I get a break this month for Bee Mod because it’s MY month! YAY! I’m starting to get blocks back, and it’s SUPER exciting. When I get more, I’ll post some pictures.
So, in the meantime, I joined the Orange County Modern Quilt Guild along with their quilting bee “Bee Outside the Box”. This month is Kathy’s month and she requested a very colorful wonky log cabin. Luckily, she precut the wonkiness into each of the pieces so I didn’t have to step too much out of my non-wonky comfort zone. You can see more blocks here.
This quilt is going to be SUPER colorful. Just in time for summer! Continue reading
I feel like I’ve been super busy lately. Work, sewing, eating, sleeping, apartment hunting. Dickson and I are moving soon, and I am NOT looking forward to packing. BLEH! I’m just glad I have tomorrow off. Thank goodness!
I finally got the chance to try out the Grilled Cheese Truck! It finally wandered over near my office a few weeks ago, and my coworker and I went to check it out. Mac and Rib sandwich? DELICIOUS. I would’ve gotten a picture of my sandwich (macaroni and cheese with pulled bbq pork), but by the time I realized it, my hands were greasy and my mouth was full of yummy macaroni. Now, to find that Cool Haus truck…
I love Pi Day. Seriously, it’s a good excuse to be nerdy AND eat delicious food. Like Pi Pie.
Finally finished Lauren’s blocks for the LA Modern Quilt Guild sewing bee. Her theme was squares and circles. It gave me a chance to use Dale Fleming’s 6 minute circle tutorial (another good tutorial can be found here). I also got to use my new Olfa circle cutter! LOVE my circle cutter. I managed to make three blocks.
This one was my favorite:
I love soufflé. Always have. My first chocolate soufflé was at Roy’s in Maui. Yum. Salt Creek Grille makes a pretty good one, too. So of course, I couldn’t help but skip to the back part of my cookbook to make a soufflé.
After the whole experience, I love soufflé even more. It’s an absolute joy to make and bake.
Finished a baby quilt for my coworker’s new baby girl. I kept it simple and used one print in the front and one print in the back.
